Electrical Engineering Services: Embedded Processor Design
Our Electrical Engineering Team has extensive experience with the services we offer; designing hardware and firmware concurrently, from the ground up to ensure interoperability and an efficient design. Embedded and microcontroller designs are a particular strength for Advantage's team. We use mainly C/C++ and assembly language for a variety of platforms in both traditional environments and Real Time Operating Systems. Firmware Development Electrical Engineering Services
Hardware description languages such as Verilog HDL and VHDL (Very High Speed Integrated Circuit Hardware Description Language) were originally designed to simulate digital circuits and enable designers to formalize the model of their designs. Today, they are used by our electrical engineering services team and others as a complete solution providing a means to define digital designs, model, simulate and then implement these designs by programming them directly into a Programmable Logic Device (PLD).
At Advantage, our electrical engineering services team excels at FPGA and CPLD development which we offer both as part of a full project or a as stand alone service to support our clients with their internal projects. With solid experience in firmware development for FPGAs and CPLDs from Altera and Xilinx our electrical engineering services team programs in the VHDL or Verilog code and uses the Altera Quartus II or Xilinx ISE toolsets to model, synthesize, simulate, and program programmable logic device designs.

RoHS Conversions
Pb Free Electrical Engineering Services
 As a result of the European Union requirement that most electronics be lead free and RoHS compliant by July 2006 many existing electronics designs will require conversion. Even for those who do not have to be RoHS compliant there will be issues with parts availability that must be addressed. The Advantage electrical engineering team can convert current products to lead free, RoHS designs with our RoHS Conversion services. We are encouraging our electrical engineering services clients to use this as an opportunity to not only convert their existing design but to also have us make a cost reduction or feature enhancement pass on these products.
Size and/or Cost-Reduction Redesign Electrical Engineering Services

Utilizing high reliability engineering techniques and firmware media such as FPGAs and PLDs in combination with high density PCB layout techniques and chip scale packaging, we are able to reduce the size of a product by as much as 80%. Applying his 30 years of experience we have successfully passed FCC, UL, CSA and CE mark with our clients' products. At the end of the review and correction process we are available to go to the labs with your team to facilitate.
