PCB Layout Designer
All applicants must have three-plus years of experience in at least two of the following packages: PCAD, PADS, or Cadence Allegro. Applicants must be able to work well within a team environment. Heavy emphasis on client interaction skills due to the service orientation of Advantage. Must be able to work in a disciplined environment in accordance with an established set of design rules per our ISO 9000 compliant QA system. Proven experience required in highly constrained designs with an emphasis on high-speed rules.

Embedded Firmware Engineer
Advantage is a growing contract engineering firm with a variety of design opportunities in underwater communications, wireless communications and control, space and military, medical, consumer and industrial products. Many of our projects involve embedded controls using Xilinx, Altera and MicroChip integrated circuits, custom hardware and firmware as well as real time operating systems.
Responsibilities
- Designs and debugs embedded firmware/software using structured methods.
- Implements firmware/software designs using CASE tools.
- Works with customers and end users to develop design and development estimates, product requirements and designs.
- Designs, develops, maintains, and documents firmware and software components to be applied to engineering, scientific, and manufacturing requirements.
- Develops software specifications and actively participates in preparation of system level specifications.
- Applies the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the system development life cycle.
- Prepares and maintains detailed design and test documentation.
- Writes test plans and conducts design tests.
- Ability to quickly read and understand legacy systems.
Qualifications
- U.S. Citizen
- B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent
- Education/experience in either of the following areas:
- Embedded systems firmware development including real-time firmware design
- Proficiency with C/C++
- Familiar with assembly languages
- Object oriented design
- Broad engineering background
- Control system background and understanding
- DSP experience is desirable

Marketing Administrative Assistant
Dynamic, contract engineering firm looking for a professional, energetic member of our staff to be the first point of contact for our customers on the phone and in the office. You will support our sales and marketing staff in maintaining contact with our customers.
Responsibilities
- Edit and prepare sales presentations from existing materials
- Customize and prepare sales packets for customers.
- Input and edit entries in our corporate contact database.
- Prepare postal and email customer mailings from addresses in the company's contact database.
- Customize and update sales presentations.
- Support our sales and marketing staff with logistical arrangements for shows and presentations.
- Research potential customers for sales staff.
- Overall editing of company newsletter.

Qualifications
- Professional manners and appearance
- Excellent English speaking and spelling skills.
- Min. 4 years experience with PC tools, especially MS Word, Excel, email and Internet browser.

- Familiarity with electronic design terminology is desirable.

Sales Engineer - Electronic Product Development Services
We're looking for an energetic, enthusiastic sales professional who is a team player with a strong work ethic and positive attitude to join our expanding engineering services company.
Responsibilities
- Generate new business and penetrate strategic accounts
- Develop winning technical sales strategies
- Manage all sales programs for an expanding company in a small team environment
- Locate prospects, forecast new business, and create a solid business plan for each account
- Structure the capture plan, negotiate and close sales
- Provide timely solutions to customer application issues in Engineering Services
- Act as technical liaison between our customers and company staff members
- Support and act as a resource for new business development activities
- Take responsibility for sustaining applications for pre-sale and post-sale customer support
Requirements
- BSEE (or equivalent combination of technical education and experience)
- 2+ years of solid experience in both outside and inside sales of technical professional services
- Account management/project management experience in selling to electronic R&D customers mandatory
- Must have a proven track record of quota achievement
- Hands-on work experience in high tech industry with technical knowledge
- Ability to travel 5-10% within U.S.
- Strong computer skills (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Act 4.0)
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
- High level of initiative is essential
- Must be US citizen

Sales Assistant / Telemarketer
Working with sales & management, you will identify, evaluate and establish business relationship that build upon and enhance our design services opportunities. You will be required to provide a strong customer focus and help our sales team uncover potential business opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Directly, and as part of a sales team, generate sales of Electronic Product Development & Layout services.
- Establish new, and develop existing customer relationships primarily using telephone and electronic communication technology.
- Develop and maintain a level of technical product knowledge, market knowledge and customer support expertise to quickly identify and drive the sales function.
- Prospect, lead generation and account profile responsibilities.
- Regularly develop and submit accurate forecasts and reports as required.
- Develop and maintain close working relationships with other departments.
- Build and sustain a high volume of sales activity and high level of customer satisfaction.
Requirements
- 2 -3 years of Telesales or Telemarketing experience (preferably in technology)
- Have solid track record of sales measurable success based sales skills and the achievement of quotas and sales goals.
- Knowledge standard Inside Sales procedures, practices and techniques.
- Highly professional demeanor and superior decision making skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Proven ability to succeed with minimal supervision in a demanding sales environment.
Education: Associates Degree (BA/BS degree desired), basic Sales skills training and technical experience a plus.

Senior Signal Integrity Engineer
We are seeking a strong and versatile Senior Signal Integrity Engineer who has excellent experience with board level simulation. He/She will be involved with the board design and development effort through all phases including analysis, design, layout, simulation, prototype bring-up, test, complete design documentation, and release to manufacturing. He/ She is expected to understand signal integrity issues, board layout design rules and system-level software fundamentals Candidate should be a self-starter who thrives in fast-paced environments and employs creative problem solving to overcome engineering challenges.
Requirements
- 10+ years of industry experience with Board Post Simulation Level and high-speed circuit design, test, and integration, including Expertise in Cadence Spectra-Quest and Mentor Graphic Hyperlynx or XTK.
- Expert in IBIS Modeling.
- Expert in HSPICE Model Extraction.
- Familiar with DDR/QDR interfaces (chip-to-chip, SDRAM (DDR), SRAM (QDR)).
- Simultaneous switching output analysis.
- Simulations of device I/O to reduce overshoot and undershoot (which can cause increased noise on power planes due to return currents).
- Return current analysis for noise reduction.
- Proper transmission line impedance control.
- Crosstalk analysis of signals to reduce noise.
- Lab measurements using oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, etc. for verification.
Education: BSEE or equivalent required. (MSEE preferred).
